Who are we

The Mages Guild is open to all, and welcomes anyone who wishes to join, so long as they speak to a high-ranking member first.

The guild strives to be a place of knowledge, accepting any and all to learn from our library or to enjoy lessons led by our members. We will be going on expeditions for knowledge, artifacts, and the like, every so often as well.

Mission Statement

Our mission statement revolves around remaining neutral in political matters, though we do involve ourselves should we need to prevent unnecessary loss of lives, or to protect the realm as a whole.

We do take requests for help, but these are not considered contracts in case we cannot manage to assist, for whatever reason. Requests for help given to the Archmage or Masters will be posted into notices and the EoC discord!

Guild Rules

1. Only the Archmage and Masters have the authority to officially speak or act on behalf of the guild. All others must be granted explicit permission to represent guild interests on a case-by-case basis.

2. The Mages' guild will not pay ransom, bail or fines for members unless they were conducting official guild business at the time of their capture or arrest.

3. The Archmage and Masters will mediate disputes between guild members if requested to do so, but will not become embroiled in ongoing interpersonal conflict.

4. Vandalism of guild resources will result in immediate ejection from the guild and banishment from Zer'tath tower. All resources are free to be used as needed, but we do not accept someone running around breaking or ruining things they are not going to use, just so the rest of us have more work to do.

5. Assault or the use of judgment-altering spells or potions on any unwilling guild member will result in immediate ejection from the guild and banishment from Zer'tath tower, and depending upon what one was made to do during their judgment being altered, may involve local law enforcement.

6. A tithe of ten percent will be paid to the guild treasury for paid services rendered within the guild.

Ranks

Archmage- Highest ranking in the guild, only for the lead. Current Archmage: Feyethe Sarre 

Master- Guild Council members, help the Archmage, and can initiate members into the guild if the Archmage is unavailable to do so, for whatever possible reason.

Magus- Highest rank that can be earned, outside of from the lead deciding to give someone the second in command rank. Earned by activity in the guild and taking part as a member of the guild.

Adept- Middle type rank, earned by being active and taking part! 

Initiate- Lower rank, juuust above Apprentice. This is the general rank for the guild! You've officially been initiated into the mages guild!

Apprentice- The Everyone role. This role is for the newest members, and ranking up to the next rank is simple, just participate in at least one guild event (lesson, warding, anything!)

All ranks are earned by taking part in the guild activities. If a Master or the Archmage are not present at something you take part in as a part of the guild, NC it and toss it into the mailbox book on the office desk.

About The Tower Ward

The first ward prevents violence within the guild levels of the tower, so the floor where the guild meets and above.

The second ward prevents anyone not high ranking from going above the library level of the guild.

The violence protection ward allows spells to still be cast but turns them non-lethal.
